Next comes designing your pizza oven. It should include three main components: base, dome, and chimney. The base is where you’ll build your fire; it needs to be sturdy enough to support all weight above it – typically made out of concrete or brick. The dome covers the base; this is where heat circulates cooking pizzas evenly – usually constructed from clay or refractory cement because they retain heat well. Lastly, there’s a chimney which allows smoke to escape.

Now onto construction! Start by building a solid foundation using concrete blocks or bricks ensuring it’s levelled correctly for stability purposes – this will act as support for your entire structure so don’t skimp on quality here!

On top of this foundation lay down some insulation material like vermiculite or perlite mix then cover with another layer of concrete forming smooth surface ready for laying firebricks which make up floor part where actual cooking happens.

The next step involves constructing dome-shaped structure over these firebricks using either clay or refractory cement depending upon preference – remember keeping walls thick enough for proper heat retention yet not too heavy causing structural issues later on.

Finally, install chimney at the front of dome allowing smoke to exit efficiently. Depending upon design you may want to include door as well for controlling airflow and maintaining temperature inside.

Once construction is complete, allow your oven to dry thoroughly before firing it up. This might take a few days or even weeks depending on the materials used and local climate conditions.

Now that your pizza oven is ready, it’s time to fire it up! Start with a small fire and gradually increase its size over several hours. This will help cure the oven and remove any remaining moisture in the materials.
